By adhering to the club's policies, procedures and best practice, we enable children, young people and adults at risk to take part in any club activity — including our Academy, trials, community programmes and events — in an enjoyable, safe and inclusive environment.

Our commitment and the law
Safeguarding at FC Nairobi is grounded in Kenyan law and recognised sporting standards, including Article 53 of the Constitution of Kenya (2010), the Children Act (2022), the Sexual Offences Act (2006) and the Counter-Trafficking in Persons Act (2010).
We also have regard to the safeguarding requirements of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF), FIFA's safeguarding framework (FIFA Guardians), and the Convention on the Rights of the Child, which Kenya has ratified.
How we keep people safe
Our safeguarding measures include:
- A Safeguarding Policy covering children, young people and adults at risk
- Safe recruitment — vetting, references and checks for staff, coaches and volunteers who work with children
- Safeguarding training and codes of conduct for everyone working with young people
- Clear procedures for reporting and responding to concerns, with defined responsibilities
- Risk assessments for academy sessions, trials, trips and events
- Rules on photography, social media and communication with young players

Whistleblowing
Anyone working for or with the club who becomes aware of a safeguarding concern — including suspected abuse, exploitation, harassment or modern slavery — is required to report it. The club will not tolerate retaliation against anyone who raises a genuine concern in good faith.
